ONLINE THERAPY IN UTAH AND IDAHO

Therapy That Helps You Feel Safe, Supported, and Less Alone.

Life can feel heavy when you're carrying trauma, navigating motherhood, managing anxiety, or trying to care for everyone else. I provide trauma-informed online therapy for women and families throughout Utah and Idaho, offering compassionate support and practical tools to help you reconnect with yourself, strengthen your relationships, and build greater self-trust.

Hi, I’m Sam.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Sam Wilson Therapy. I work with women, mothers, parents, and caregivers throughout Utah and Idaho who may be navigating trauma, anxiety, overwhelm, relationship patterns, parenting stress, or simply feeling like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way.

Before becoming a therapist, I was an elementary school teacher, and that experience continues to shape the way I approach this work. I believe people make more sense when we understand the experiences, relationships, and environments that have shaped them. My approach is warm, practical, and trauma-informed, with plenty of room for curiosity, compassion, and being human.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mom, partner, foster parent, and someone who understands that family life can be both deeply meaningful and incredibly complicated. You don’t need to show up with the right words or have everything figured out before we begin. We can start wherever you are.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Therapy can be a place to understand what you’re carrying and find a way forward that feels more like you.

Parenting & Family

You’re in the right place if…

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed by trauma, anxiety, or life’s transitions.

  • Motherhood or parenting feels heavier than you expected.

  • You’re navigating foster care, adoption, or attachment challenges.

  • You want a therapist who offers practical tools with warmth and compassion.

MY APPROACH

Warm, Practical, Trauma-Informed Therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore what’s difficult, and respected as the expert on your own experiences. My approach is warm and collaborative, with space to understand where certain patterns may come from while also finding practical ways to navigate what you’re experiencing now.

I work from a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and strengths-focused perspective. Depending on what feels helpful for you, I may also incorporate CBT, DBT skills, and TBRI-informed principles. There isn’t one right way to do therapy, so our work will be shaped by your needs, goals, strengths, and pace.

You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what needs to change before you begin. We can start with what feels hardest right now and figure out the next steps together.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out for support. If you’re ready for a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin figuring out what you need, I’d be glad to connect with you.
